Reading Mats and a Cyber Search

Reading is a big deal.  Sometimes, I take for granted the fact that I can read.  I think about all of the things I do on a daily basis that requires me to use the reading skills I have and am thankful I have strategies giving me access to all of these words.  Because it is such a big deal, I am always trying to find new and different ways to help my students access these strategies that I use daily.

One thing that I did last year, with great success, is using Comprehension Mats.  Since the students are using their reading strategies in a slightly a different way then I had asked them in the past, this was just the way I needed to get them actively involved in their reading.

And August 11, you are in luck.  I am offering my dear readers a chance to pick up the Strategy mats FOR FREE in my store.  You read that right.  You can get these mats that my students love for FREE. Just come back here on Saturday, August 11, and you will have access to download the mats.   They will be available on Saturday only, so be sure to act fast!

What is even better, is that the 10 other bloggers below will also be offering one of the items in their stores for free as well.  The 11 of us are hoping that you will have a great set of activities to get you started off right in your classroom this coming school year.   So on Saturday, head over to my store, pick up your free Strategy Mats, and then hop around and fill up your Back to School Bag with some brand new tricks :)

And, now that the event is over, please still head to the blogs to check out the great products they have, as well as all of the FABULOUS information that is there of you all.  These truly are amazing blogs, and you will become a better teacher simply by reading them :)
