I always had them include their names, title of the book, genre, author, and date finished. That way, everyone knew who they belonged to. I do love the idea of a cover card though. I just have them do their independent reading. Do you have the students rec...This is a great idea! Do you have the students record the books that you read aloud or use as a whole group as well or is this strictly for independent reading books? I always have them record the first few we do together during the year to teach the skill but I always seem to forget to give the time needed to record group books once we get going! <br /><br />I just did a post about early read-aloud books.
