I LOVE teaching because it is my hope that I can help kids the way my teachers helped me, and I find it absolutely priceless when I can see the light bulb turn on and see that ahh moment.

    ReplyDelete
  153. I love digging deep to know my students and their interests so that I can work those things into our classroom learnings. ReplyDelete
  156. I know this may seem cliche but there is no other way to truly impact the future. I believe that being a good teacher and role model for students can help steer them in the right direction. I teach in a low income school and I want my students to know that they can achieve anything that they put their mind to.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I love teaching because I love getting to know my students and watch them grow each and every day!

    ReplyDelete
  158. One of the things that thrills me to see is when my students really internalize something they've learned, whether it's academic, personal, or relational. For instance, I have one student who has really struggled with classroom behavior (i.e. shouting out, talking with other students recess-style, etc.) and just the other day I saw him catch himself before he said something out loud, not as a response to me, but of his own initiative. I was so proud!

  165. I work with students who have learning disabilities, so when they "GET" something, it makes it even more meaningful for me. Sometimes I work with a kid for a whole year before they fully "get" things that other kids get so easily! Seriously, I've cried when these kids show learning and growth!

    ReplyDelete
  166. I love teaching because I enjoy teaching children to become lifelong learners and inspire them to want to learn something new every day!

    ReplyDelete
  171. I guess the part of teaching that gets me up in the morning is the challenge of helping my students see the connections between classwork and the real world in which they live. Helping them see that there is a greater purpose to "learning" than some high stakes state test.

    ReplyDelete
